The more players in the tournament, the more aggressive a style you need if you want to have a chance to win. Learn to build a big stack early in these events with tons of players. The idea is that you will be better off having a ton of chips twice, out of say 15 times, rather than having a small stack 5 or 6 times out of fifteen. You will make more money from the two tournaments that you have a big stack, than from the 5 or 6 small stack runs.
Make a note of how your game appears to the other players at the table. A loose aggressive image is good if you know wheat to do. Do not bluff too much. People will tire of you aggressive play. When you have a big hand, you often will get the action you want, and take down a big pot.
